Bursitis

I restarted my C25k about a month ago but had to stop due to a really painful burning sensation on the outside of my hip. I understand this is bursitis which is an inflammation of the fluid sacks that protect our joints. Has anyone else had this? It is so frustrating as my actual joints are fine. I started running again yesterday and so far so good, but does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this happening again?
