That was hard work!

Just done w3r1. It was hard work. Had to consciously keep my mind off the fact that my legs wanted to give up. Being on the treadmill helped though as I think if I’d been running outside I may just have stopped. How do other people distract themselves from wanting to stop?

But you did it! Well done.

Our heads will try to tell our legs what to do. Just ignore your head and listen to your legs 🏃🏃🏃 The programme works and if you have managed the previous run then you are clearly ready for the next one.

If you think you might stop just consider how you'll feel if you do. Compare that with how you'll feel if you carry on. No contest really 💪💪💪

Yes very true- would have felt pretty bad for quite a while if I’d given up. And much shorter pain just to keep running! And then I felt chuffed that I finished. Thanks for that Irish Princess 👍💐

Well done Janez.. I agree with Irish princess stay positive and trust the program.

Are you listening to music alongside your c25k coach? You can try counting 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 when you start to feel tired. Most importantly though run slowly so that you have enough energy to finish each run interval. You only need to be going fast enough to be actually running rather than a fast walk...Not Fast Running!

Cover up the dials with a towel so you are not watching the clock... have a bottle of water and take a sip during the walk break.

Running outside your speed is naturally determined by the terrain, pavements, slopes etc, it is more interesting because you are moving along and have different things to look at and distract you, so maybe think about trying outside if you get the chance.

Always stretch after the cool down walk while your muscles are still warm.

Good luck with W5 R2..you can do this 😊xx

I’m in W3 and it is a challenge. My legs want to give up but I keep telling myself it’s all in my head. I know my legs can do it if I keep going. It’s my head that I have to deal with...... but the feeling is so good when you’ve done it. I think I’m even looking forward to trying the 5 min run next week.....I think....

I've not run on a treadmill so I think I would find it quite hard. This program is not easy. If it was you wouldn't feel so good as you continue to achieve it. It does work though.

Not what you're looking for?
