Im Laura and I had a baby about 8 months ago, I've gained quite a bit of weight since getting pregnant and I want to lose that and live a healthier lifestyle to be a good influence to my son.
I'm planning to start today or tomorrow and I'm feeling very nervous and self conscious as I've never excerised before.
I'm following slimming world and looking forward to adding this to my weight loss journey.

Well done for taking the first step. I started just over a week ago and i'm absolutely loving it. Getting up extra early in the mornings isn't easy but once I'm out I really enjoy myself. I combined the program with a change in lifestyle, my meals are a little healthier (used to eat fairly well before) but I have cut alcohol for the time being and the weight is falling off at the moment.
Get out there and enjoy yourself, there's no reason to be nervous. Felling self conscious or not is different for everyone, perhaps go at a time or place when or where there will be less people?
Most importantly, have fun. I'll warn you, it is addictive.
Then, steady and slow....take your time and enjoy....keep posting for great support and advice
Make sure that you listen to your body, take the rest days and remember you are a Mum with a small one... adjust the runs to suit the way life is happening around you
Maybe have a peek at this site too...many of the friends on here are on there too and find it works wonderfully !
Hi Laura, welcome to the forum and good for you for starting the C25k program. Take the run intervals nice and steady, just a gentle jog and enjoy your journey. There will be plenty of other people doing the program alongside you to compare notes with as well as plenty of advice and encouragement from those further along....
