OK, so after becoming very unfit and very over weight. (combination of my dad dying suddenly 4 years ago, having a baby 3 years ago and using both as excuse to eat unhealthy and being a couch potato) I decided to start this today.
I'm 40 in December and going abroad next year. I want to enter my 40s feeling and looking good.
I know only I can do it but I've been living on 'ill start next weeks'. SO HERE IT GOES.......

Amazing, and welcome to the forum and the C25K programme. You won't regret this decision and this first step getting started is the hardest, honestly. The difficulty with the actual running I find is normally in my head
Keep posting on here through the good runs and the not so good and you will get loads of advise and support.
Congratulations on making this decision and happy running, but be warned, you will liekly find that you get addicted
Hi Emma80, As someone who lives nothing more than to sit with my feet up watching TV I can honestly say this programme is brilliant. I found the first run really hard but if you just go at your own pace and trust me mine is slow then you can do it 😁 good luck!!
And we all want to go back to the couch with you on any given day. But bloody mindedness gets us up and out the door. Slow means having a neighbor walk his short legged dogs faster than I run. We’re here when you need.
Hi, I'm 40 this year too which is why I decided to start the c25k program in January. I completed the end of week 9 on Saturday. A few weeks ago I thought there was no way I could run for 30 minutes but I managed it and I've (mostly) enjoyed the runs. I had never run before this (I used to walk cross country at school!). Good luck, you can do it!
Congratulations on deciding to start C25K, I was in the same position 2 months ago, my problem was pizza and beer on the sofa 😂 but now I'm a graduate and believe me if I can do it anyone can, take it nice and slow, stay hydrated and you WILL do it,
