After a week of extreme fatigue and inertia today I made myself get up and run. I'm still tired but the exercise has done me the world of good. I could feel myself approaching the black dog but this has hopefully stopped that in its tracks. I'm sure it wasn't depression but rather the absence of the stress from last week but better safe than sorry..
I ran a little further today, concentrating on my technique, enjoying the feel of the cool air on working limbs. My little dog was busily inspecting hedges but found nothing to flush out, no vehicles to worry about, just a dog walker who was concerned about my lack of jacket, so it was a peaceful run. No rain, enough wind to cool but not to hinder, a long steady slope to run up and down rather than a steep hill to face, stars aplenty and finally a clear head. A good run in so many ways.
Graduation week approaches
Thank you

Well done for getting out there. I hope it'll make you feel better. It must be great running with a dog - something to pay attention to if the going gets a bit tough, and a reminder of the joyous freedom of just being in the moment.
I love running with him and he loves it too. If he hears a vehicle he just comes and runs by my side and then trots off when it's gone. I just have to watch him near tractors and quads
I love the physicality of movement and the joy of the poetry of it x
Very well done!! You are inspiring me to go out! It’s very cold here in Scotland and I am already thinking of 101 things to do rather than face the elements!! 😀
