Going backwards!

I felt a total failure after Christmas! I had successfully kept up the programme and completed week 5. I felt so proud. Then illness struck. After 3 weeks off, and still not 100% I decided to go back to week 4. I found this disheartening, and motivation was a real problem. However, I have just finished week 4 and I feel better for it. So onward and upward!

You've done very well! There's no rush especially with winter days being still quite short and energy levels being quite low (as I'm writing, the wind and rain are battering my windows and I'm struggling against a pretty bad cold myself). You've got back to the programme, which is the most important and hardest thing and you're back to the level you had left.

So enjoy the next runs and I'm sure you'll find it easier than before your illness (body memory)!

Well done, stick with it.

You cannot maintain your running fitness if you don't run. It happens to all of us at some time and you just have to build up again, slow and steady. Even when you have been running for years, your condition starts to diminish after a couple of weeks not running.

Keep running keep smiling.

I think that’s amazing, having the will piwer to come back after a break. Well done.

Well done as I'm sure it would have been so easy to pack it in, big achievement

Well done, that's great. Going back a week sounds very wise. Go gently while you build up your strength again. 😀
