Week 2 done.

I've finished week 2! I can jog for 90 seconds now but I'm ready to stop when it's finished. How do I suddenly double that to 3 minutes jog tomorrow?! 😲🀣

You take it just that wee bit slower, and chant to yourself "I can do this, I am doing this". You will be pleasantly surprised when you finish! The programme is building you up, week on week, to be able to take on the slightly longer runs.

Don't underestimate the mental challenges of starting to run – you have to talk yourself out of any negative talk whilst running!

Congrats on getting to week 3, and onwards and upwards! You are doing very well. :-)

Thank you.

I will practise my positivity chants and post tomorrow once I've done it. 😊 x

By trusting the programme. If you hadn't realised it before, then Week 1 prepares you for Week 2. In fact every run you do prepares you for the next one. Keep repeating that to yourself as you go on. Oh, and don't be deceived by Week 5... in my opinion Week 4 is the most important week.

Well done on getting this far!

Good luck!

John

I try not to look ahead until I'm there lol. But I will trust the programme. Thank you x

I can only echo what Sadie and John have said. I remember you being daunted by the increase from Wk1 to W2....it wasn’t that bad was it? 😊

Trust in the programme, take it steady and remember, if you’re getting breathless....slow down!

Enjoy W3 πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Had exactly the same thoughts but just kept on going. Self talk is important and getting yourself in a good head space. You can do it.

Hi Clairecandothis, I'm so glad you posted this because I am feeling exactly the same! I completed W2R3 on Saturday so W3 starts tonight. I am genuinely nervous about going up to 3mins, it seems impossible! I know people say slow down...but I'm pretty sure I'd be walking if I slowed down anymore at some points ...haha! That said, I'm loving it, and I'm already looking forward to the post run feeling of having completed it. Best of luck with W3..I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow. Keep us updated!

I can’t think of any reply except: you just will!! I was very unsure about the increase to 3 mins (esp as I thought it was going to be 2 mins!πŸ˜‰) but I finished the first 3 mins with a big fat smile on my face!... it was hard, not gonna lie, but, just keep moving and it will happen.... promise. Good luck πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
