Running : Hi people I'm new on here just... - Couch to 5K
Running
Welcome to the forum.
Most of us ran C25k on our own. There are are many advantages. You won't be let down by other people, you go at your optimum pace with no compromise for others and it becomes all your own achievement.
Groups are great if you want some support. Most only meet once a week, so will still be running alone,

I hope you find the best way for you. Keep us posted.
Hi, someone posted this link runtogether.co.uk/groups/ for someone else looking for groups - they were coincidentally in Nottinghamshire, Stapleford though. Hope you find something - but as IannodaTruffe said most of us do this alone, you'll always have support on here.
If it's a case of not wanting to be out and about on your own, the first few runs won't take you very far, so if you can convince someone just to keep you company - I sometimes dragged my other half out to the park, where he sat watching me run round in circles
Get or borrow a dog, ask a friend, join a gym, a running club or do park run. HOWEVER running alone is really lovely. Time for thought and contemplation, enjoying nature and the fresh air. Give it a go, you might be surprised.
There is no need to be anxious about parkrun - every one that I have been to, there has been a very wide range of runners and capabilities. I can see that at the latest Beeston parkrun there were 337 participants who finished the 5k from 18 minutes to 54 minutes - and I am sure you won't be the only first timer there .
Wow I have never been to beeston parkrun
