Hi, I did w2 r2 on Thursday, outside rather than on treadmill. My shins were a bit sore yesterday, but my right shin is quite sore today. Should I continue today inside on treadmill or leave it till tomorrow? My next run, after running either today or tomorrow, is scheduled for Tuesday. Or should I just continue today?
Does it matter if there are 2 days between runs, as in run Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, then Tuesday again? Thank you

Hi Assumpta, extra rest days are fine at any time you need them. Many of us will have a pattern similar to yours of running 3 times a week.
Rest day means " not running" so your body repairs itself. Walking, cycling, Pilates, yoga etc are all fine on rest days.
I don't know very much about sore shins except that it is a problem that lots of people have- no doubt someone else will give you information. I do know that it is ok to run with small aches and pains which are common in the early weeks, but never run with significant pain which is an injury or it will get worse.
Good luck with your running adventure- we will cheer you on, so keep us posted! 😀
Well done! If the soreness is bad then have an extra rest day, but you should try and stick to your scheduled days as much as possible, but life does dictate, to keep soreness to a minimum always make sure you stretch after your runs..😊
Having two non running days in a row once a week or so is good. Don't try and run though pain or injury but minor aches and niggles are quite normal. My shins stopped aching some time around week 9. They were never so bad that I made them worse on the next run though.
Excellent, thank you. I think I'll leave it another hour or so just getting on with things and see how I go before lunch, if not I'll continue tomorrow.
