Second run. I am sore as expected. I do not see how I will manage 5k in one go ๐Ÿ˜น

Sweating.

Doing it on a treadmill as don't have confidence to pound streets.....yet.

Hey LC_85, well done on getting the run done, trust me when I say we have all been where you are and all had the doubts that we could run for 30 mins.

Sweating is par for the course and so is a little bit of pain, but keep it in check, if it is just the normal muscle aches from exertion then your rest days will take care of them, if it feels more serious get it checked out.

Make sure your get into a routine of stretching after each run and look after those muscles, your going to need them... a lot!!!

Thanks so much for your reply :) I am not worried that I have an injury I am sure it's pain from not being used to moving like this ha. Thanks I am determined to finish the course.

I suspect you are going too fast! Slow things down to a pace you can sustain for the timed intervals - slow as you like! Pace will improve naturally over time. And don't worry or even think about the goal of 30 minute runs just yet - focus on the run you're on. Also, remember to take those all important 'rest days' (non running days) as this is when your muscles will repair. Above all, trust in the programme (it works!) and keep us posted of your progress! Good luck.โ˜บ

THank you so much for your reply. I have a terrible habit of jumping the gun. I will ensure to take my rest days and just walk these days and not run. Thanks again for your support ๐Ÿ˜€

Sweating is just the fat crying :)

I find I can't do much more than 15mins on a dreadmill in the gym as I get too hot, so I prefer it to be 0c to 5c outside. No idea what i'm going to do in the summer, may have to find a naturist beach to run on :o

Don't worry about the confidence issue. It will come in time. Starting something new like this you are juggling a lot of things, but as you start to get comfortable with the routine you'll be able to cope and expand outward.

Thanks for your reply. And hanks for the advice. I appreciate it. Yes I have the heating on as I have two wee ones and they are strapped into a seat so I can do my run haha. So it's rather warm. Thanks again ๐Ÿ˜€

I have one of those 3 wheel buggies where supposedly you can run with the little ones in front. I have run once with it but not for any distance, be interesting to know if running with a double buggy was at all possible :)

Think u need loads more confidence on a treadmill!! I pound the streets 7am start ... itโ€™s still quite dark so very few see me .. just the โ€œoddโ€ dog walker . Prefer to run incognito! Treadmill at a gym terrifies me ... all these fit gym bunnies in all the gear seeing me wobbling along !!

Iโ€™m a late starter but managed to complete the C25k in the nine weeks ending November . Since then coughs colds etc have hampered progress . Just got happy doing the distance again and in a couple of weeks I intend to start The Bridge .

No I do it at home ๐Ÿ˜€ Husband leaves at six am and back at six thirty pm so I thought I would run at home and see how I get on. Maybe one weekend I will try the streets. Good luck with your progress ๐Ÿ˜€

Guys.....just did my first run on week three. Talk to me.....I am over weight which is main reason I am doing this. Will this hinder my chances of doing it? I completed my run today. Actually still cant believe it ha.

No, it will not hinder your chances at all. You walk around all day supporting your bodyweight, you will be able to run with it. Assuming you are doing this in conjunction with calorie control, as you lose weight you will actually be at an advantage as your legs and joints will be strongerm having been accustomed to supporting greater weight.

Stick with it.

Thank you. I really needed to hear this. I guess confidence plays a part in how I do it. And you have reassured me. As I am scared but determined and cannot believe I am on week three!! Thanks again ๐Ÿ˜€
