Forum Newbie - Up to Week 7, Run 2...

Hi everyone, newbie here. I've been working my way through Cto5k and am up to week 7, run 2 now. I can't believe:

a) I've stuck to it

b) It's worked and I've been able to run for 25 minutes (on the most recent runs)

Having Michael Johnson as my coach on the app has been key, I've always really liked him as an athlete and pundit. What a legend.

Good to read the other posts, I'll be keeping an eye on the forum from now on.

Thanks,

Dan.

I know a couple of people who have really used the programme as a springboard to transform into 10k, half-marathon and even marathons.

I don't see the marathon on the horizon for me but who knows I guess.

I've never really liked running before now but having an actual programme to follow has helped break down the stigma I've always attached to it.

Keep going everyone.

Totally agree with you. I can’t believe I’ve stuck to it and I HATED running when I tried it about 10 years ago. Long may it continue..... :-)

Week 7 done.

Final run of the week, I can honestly describe as comfortable.

Increased speed throughout and added some gradient. Finished with a final 2 min burst of much higher speed.

Felt amazing.

Just finished week 8, run 1 today. Felt different, had a stich from 10 mins but managed to control it and still finished well. Don't think I'd eaten enough earlier in the day.
