W2 R3... But not sure what's happening to me?!?😳

Morning all. Excited to have finished week 2, but not sure who I am???... I certainly don't recognise the woman who got out of bed (in the dark!) this morning, scoffed a bowl of porridge and then went out (in the rain) for a run before getting ready for a late shift at work!!!!..... Very unlike me! (And with the lingering sniffles too!) My fella was worried... Think he thought i'd got a fever or something as this behaviour is so uncharacteristic! πŸ˜‰

I'm loving it tho, and I'm convinced that this forum is helping to keep me motivated.

I am basically just nosey, and so the combination of hearing other people's success stories along with others beginning like me is just wonderful!

Happy running people! πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ

Hi Liz! I love this post. If this is you at the end of week 2, then the sky's the limit! Sounds as if you are really getting the bug. Hope you enjoyed your dark and rainy run - I love going out for an early morning run, I think it really clears the mind and sets you up for the day, and gives you more energy too.

Glad it's all going well, and I hope you continue to enjoy it even more as the weeks pass and you really start finding your running legs.

Ah, the bug has bitten. Soon you will be running with hurricanes x

It's true! I've gone out in the remains of two named storms so far, Dylan being the last. Once the bug has bitten, there is no hope. somebody yesterday was running through waves on the seafront in Storm Eleanor :)

Oh no, you are definitely in trouble. And I am very sorry to say that there is no cure. Being totally honest, you are royally stuffed. Running's got a grip of you. Next thing you know, you'll suddenly be secretly looking at running clothes online, getting to grips with compression tights, wickable running tops and 43 different types of running sock. You WILL absolutely 'need' that neon running jacket you'd never previously even look at and your wardrobe will probably end up with a dangerously high % lycra content. :)

Welcome to the club, it's wonderful! :)

Guilty as charged. My name's Flick and I'm a runaholic.

True! Yesterday I stumbled across a(nother) website with loads of lovely running gear at very reduced prices and I nearly started hyperventilating, such was my excitement.

Too true. i have two pairs of running shoe and now, thanks to Christmas and birthday, a drawer full of running gear (including an embarrassment of socks) to add to what i already had. and i still can't stop!!!!

An "embarrassment" is the perfect collective noun for running socks (or running gear in general I think!).

Glad you have caught the bug. I know exactly how that feels. I have had the cold since boxing day but it hasn't stopped a run yet. I do feel like an old dame with tissues tucked up my sleeves when I run lol. My neighbours are also getting tired of the running related deliveries they keep having to take in as I'm at work lol :)

Running is great for the nosey.! It’s quite a sport for having a nose about. Laura of the podcasts talks about running tall, as if peering over a tall hedge to check out whats on the other side πŸ˜ƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘βœ”οΈ

I love having a nose about too - but got more than I bargained for once when accidentally stumbling across a couple in flagrante delicto (in the place where the Ben Hur chariot race was filmed, no less!).

i was in the garden one day and my old man shouted to me to come in the house and β€œtake a look at what i’d Done!” Me?, thought I innocently. Anyway trudged in the house to see what I was guilty of. Went upstairs, following my harrumphimg other half, and he pointed out to me Exhibit A, the collapsed rail in our walk-in wardrobe. it had sagged and broken under the sheer weight of Lycra πŸ˜ƒβ˜ΊοΈπŸ˜Š

I had to thin it out after that but i think it needs another cull 😎
