Happy new year lovely running peeps!! Best laid plans and all that, had so many ideas that would be out and about of Christmas but they just never too shape...as ever life gets in the way, youngest sons birthday blah blah, excuses galore! But at least I had a quick 15 mins before I now go and get ready to host new year for our dear friends! I actually ached today because my legs wanted a run...who would have thought??? The son who has not left Home (he so has!!!) is coming to join the celebrations. I won’t be sorry to see the back of this year 3 family members gone and sorely missed over Christmas 😢 but here’s to 2018!! I need you lot to nag me mercilessly from now on please as it is 13 weeks until my daughters wedding and I want to look as toned as possible in my outfit so nag away, I need to get back to 3 times a week.

I have found the best bunch of buddies anyone could wish for in you lot!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🍸🍹🍺

Happy New Year, Nag, nag, nag. I have a 2018 challenge coming up tomorrow, so I need to be nagged too....

Agree to a joint nagging plan? I am righting 2017 off as one hell of a crappy year, so 2018 can't be worse - especially with a toned fit mum at her daughter's wedding and a fit JCR running down Alzheimers.

Come on girl we can do it

Polly2810 profile image
Polly2810Graduate in reply to

Yes we can!!! My sentiments exactly 2017 can do one!!! I need the joint nag plan as have been very lazy since the knee and back problems...plus year end was manic at work and when I finally stopped it was like the whole body just wanted to go into zombie mode!! Onwards and upwards we can do this!! 😊😊😊👍🏻

in reply to Polly2810

Done deal, first nag coming up - you running tomorrow? Or are we wimping it and going for the day after?

Polly2810 profile image
Polly2810Graduate in reply to

Can’t run tomorrow is a rest day...although I only did 15 so I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt...all depends on how many cocktails 🍹 I get through tonight 🤣🤣

in reply to Polly2810

Me too!!! Okay let's not knacker the rest plan as I am sure it was our esteemed IannodaTruffe who said you need a year of regular running under your belt before you can do daily running. So tomorrow we rest, with a renewed vigour in New Year

I will do my best old floss. I know it’s in there ...this time last year the last thing I would have been doing is getting a run in however short before getting the oven on!! It may have only been short not I feel great now and ready for some cocktails. Have a good one x

You will get there again....I am having a small glass of bubbly :) Little Mum and family were here for lunch.. so, now they are back home I am chilling a little :)

Enjoy your evening and Happy New Year!

Happy to Nag and every reason to get you fighting fit for the wedding. Christmas and NY have taken their toll weight wise on me too. However I have still run 3 times a week clocking a record 19K in total this week. I need motivation as we all do and reading here gives me that.

Polly2810 profile image
Polly2810Graduate in reply to tfcmagpie

God well done you!! Put me to shame, but 13 weeks I will look the part of mother of the bride and not let my girl down! 😊

tfcmagpie profile image
tfcmagpieGraduate in reply to Polly2810

I am sure you will! I aim to take off the Christmas and NY weight gain by end of second week in January and then lose another 10KG taking me down to 83.2 KG from a start point last July of 124.7KG.

Well done you!! That’s amazing!! I am wimping it...not even gonna look at the scales till mid January!! 🤣

Ooh right, well a very dear friend of mine is getting married on Easter Saturday too. She was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer 6 months ago (she’s only 29) and she has dealt with the whole dreadful experience with amazing courage. The wedding planning has helped keep her focused & I can’t wait to see her marry her ‘best friend’ & her absolute rock. She has been so supportive of my running & has really spurred me on. My aim this year is to complete a 10K which seems an enormous ask at the moment but with my friend as inspiration I will get there!! We can spur each other on - you WILL look fab-u-lous at your daughters wedding 👰😁🎉 pictures please 😁😁 xx

Oh there will be pictures I’m sure!! Well done for your friend what an awful thing to have to deal with and So young!! Easter Saturday will be the day of the year then...I would like to get to 5k let alone 10 but you will do it!!

Foxes1961 profile image

This time last year I would never have believed I could run a 5K. I now try and do 5K at least twice a week, not saying it’s easy but I always feel better for doing it 😁 this programme & especially this forum are both so great & inspiring. My inspiration last year was my neices wedding in April, I’ll see if I can dig out a pic. I had only lost a few pounds then but I was so pleased with how much more toned I was after running for a few months 😁😁

Polly2810 profile image
Polly2810Graduate in reply to Foxes1961

Oh yes, we like pics!! Yes I’m more toned, just need to get back to it! Have been lazy since knee problems! But new year new goal let’s get to it!! ...not today though...one too many prosecco cocktails last night 🤣🤣

Happy New Year! I'm sure you'll find a regular running rhythm and will look fab at your daughter's wedding. It's ok to cheat with M&S scary underwear for these occasions anyway! Sending you positive running vibes other than a nag!

Polly2810 profile image
Polly2810Graduate in reply to Slinkymalinki

Haha 😂 thanks...yes already have the scary underwear ready!! 3 times a week again from now until March!!

Happy New Year everyone. As a new 'runner' I have really appreciated all your support. If you'd told me 12 months ago I was going to start running and keep up with the programme and run a 5 K (well that's next week) I would have told you that you were mad. You never can tell what can happen in the following year. I hope I keep it up and lose weight . I 've been thinking I want to lose weight so I can run better! What madness is that! Support to everyone who needs to get going again.

Happy New Year! Will be happy to be running alongside you and encouraging you as you prepare for your daughter's wedding (how exciting!). I am sure you will be super-toned and will look the absolute bomb.

Sorry the outgoing year was a sad one but here's hoping 2018 will bring much brighter things!

Polly2810 profile image
Polly2810Graduate in reply to HeleneCorsa

Well

As they say...things can only get better, too many tears last year, this year they will be proud tears of joy!! Stuck to my guns...straight home from work and on that treadmill! Building up again gradually so back up to 20 mins and aim to increase by 10% each run till am back up to the 30 mins. That’s the plan anyway! 🤣

icklegui profile image
ickleguiGraduate in reply to Polly2810

Yeees! Was just thinking I hadn't checked if you'd gone yet or would appreciate the nag.

Proud tears of joy ahead :)
