Good Afternoon...hope everybody had a lovely day yesterday & got lots of shiny new running gear for christmas π
I am stuck in bed...sinus infection plus a nasty flu lurgy on top π’ its a beautiful day outside...the sun is shining & i would love to get out there & go for a run!!!i havnt run for 3 weeks now & goodness knows when i am going to get back to it!!!where on earth do i start back in the programme when i do?i have already had to start again once...i feel totally lost now & have no idea at what point i should start again or whether to start the whole thing again!!!(i had got to wk5 run 1 but that was a huge struggle as i was unwell so lets say week 4 run 3)
Claire you seem to be having a had time of late. Nightmare for you. I'm now in Spain, started up the running from Week 1 even though I got to week 5! Weeks of no running I thought best for me to start from scratch , and I was right! Everyone is different I guess. . All the best
Oh Claire, youβve had such a horrible time lately π I do hope you feel better soon.
Take time to really get yourself well before heading out there again.
How about start from the beginning..?? Try W1R1 and see how you feel. If itβs a good run, perhaps head straight to W2R1 and see how that goes. If thatβs ok, go straight to W3R1 ... yeah, you know where this is going π
As usual, take it really slow and steady and Iβm sure youβll get back into it in no time.
Oh bless you! - huge cyber hug! You will get better and running will be there for you when you are ready.
If it was me... after such a grotty time I would make sure that I could walk briskly for 30 mins & feel good, before getting going running. Then I would start running gently, - listen to your body- it will tell you what you can manage. π
You poor thing π bad enough you canβt run but being ill over Christmas too you must be so peed off! I donβt really know where you should start again as Iβm at the same level as you so still new to it all. I hope you feel better really, really soon xxx
Just get better first... Last winter...the dreaded lurgy hit loads of us and it was ages before some of us got going again...
Snug up. take care of you and plan some routes in your head.. then when you are better... you head out and see how it goes, before you decide where you will start from
Get well soon Claire. The running WILL wait for you, and as soon as you are well, you will build back up again, no doubt about that. Starting again is not the end of the world, I have considered it myself lately, whilst recovering from injury....
You have a lifetime of running ahead of you. Chin up. x
Get better, have a few walks and then into the programme where you left off at a very very gentle pace. My hunch is that carrying on is more likely to see you setting out at a sensible pace than the challenges of Week 1s short intervals.
Oh, Claire. What are to do with you? Iβm still waiting to rejoin the programme. I know itβs frustrating, but I guess weβre all fitter than when we started π
