Post Week 5 Run 3 injury

Like most folk here, W5R3 was stressing me out, but despite the trepidation, completed without passing out or expiring.

However, have picked up what I presume is a groin sprain, inner thigh, top of the left leg, whereas prior to this run, there have been no other twinges etc.

I was wondering if anyone else found this particular run, with its extended duration, a strain on muscles etc not previously experienced?

Any/all thoughts would be much appreciated.

And, merry Xmas. Though mostly a lurker here, the support and advice given to others has been really helpful- this is a smart wee community; the bonhomie and camaraderie is a wonderful thing.

Well done! I too picked up my first minor twinge about 15mins into W5W3 (lower left calf strain). Can still run on it though, since not painful, it just keeps reminding me it's there. Will rest for a few days if it gets any worse.

Cheers for that. Will know how much it twinges tomorrow!

Well done.

Don't run if in pain. Rest an extra day or two.

Slowing down is generally the way to avoid injury.

Take care.k

When I completed Week5 Run3 I was fine throughout the run, but afterwards discovered a very painful Achilles’ tendon and could barely walk. I had a week off running, bout an ankle support and shares in Tiger Balm , however I probably wouldn’t recommend tiger balm on your injury unless you’ve very careful. 😉
