Just did W6R1 and I can confirm it was most difficult run yet (as many have experienced/reported in the past) not helped by overdoing it a bit over the weekend. Feeling humbled...
Just completed Week 7 this morning after a weeks break due to the weather. It was hard going but I did it without stopping. Wednesday evening I start Week 8.
Hello from me! I graduated early November this year. I'm still running, although due to snow / icy conditions I've only managed 2 runs per week over the last 2 weeks. I ran yesterday though and it felt good. I run for 30 mins, I'm no where near 5k, probably more like 4K, but maybe that can be a challenge for me in the new year.... to increase my pace!??
Hope everyone is still managing to get out there and run in these wintry conditions?? Wrap up warm and enjoy ❄️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️❄️
That's exactly where I'm at too! Around 4-4.5km per 30 minutes, so I'm consolidating then working on my pace in the new year with one fast run per week.
Am still nursing a recovering back but did manage 4.3k last Thursday - at Niko-niko pace (that’s super slow) - and felt great till I put my socks on the next morning. Am highly recommending super slow though and if you can find Bazza1234’s post and vid link it’s well worth a look.
Got my physio coming in today, still working on getting my niggly knee quite right. I can run but being careful on distance. Hoping it’s sorted very soon 😞
Completed W6R2 today and am glad it was the last run session containing walking breaks as I feel they break up my concentration! I never thought I be complaining about walking breaks at the start of this programme, I used to count the seconds down to them in the first week or so!
Did a silly thing what with Xmas bearing down on us I decided to do W6R3 the day after W6R2. My legs know all about it right now. Won't do back to back runs again in a hurry (famous last words...)
I don't know for sure where to give everyone my update. Still a newb..I'll just try here. I had a rough go for my very first run, ended up really discourged, posted a lengthy post, got tons of encouragement, and I went at it again today as promised following as much of the given advice as possible.
Downloaded the ACTUAL podcast, took it slow, and held onto hope. I was able to FINISH this time around... jogged at a snails pace minus one, but I finished nonetheless!
Fantastic news, Sophia! That 1st run is the hardest, and you did it!
Don't underestimate the mental aspect of running. You have to start out believing you can do it, no negativity allowed. And just keep it slooooow! You can build on pace (if you like), once you graduate. For now, go slow - it builds stamina. x
Starting W7R1 on 23rd Dec, plan W7R2 Xmas Day if all goes well and the Turkey is banged in the oven on time! Running on Xmas Day? What is this c25k thang doing to us?
Did W7R1 Xmas Eve (today) in the end. Pace getting slower now from 5.5 min/km early days, but still 5.9 min/km so still on target for c25k 30 mins (just). Breathing seemed great this run, no puffing/panting, so I must have found the right pace for just chugging along. Looking forward to this week's three identical 25 min runs as a chance to consolidate and compare performance over each session.
Haven't run for four weeks now due to chest infection. Desperate to get back out there as so proud to have graduated, and want to prove to myself I can still do it. Colleagues bought me a fitbit as a leaving present and husband is giving me Christmas running shoes! Still scared my fitness will have dipped badly but can't wait to try out my new kit
That's W8R1 in the bag. Wasn't easy but it was done and I feel great now it's over.
W8R2 Christmas morning!!
Just reading through everyone’s posts - so many good vibes and everyone doing brilliantly. I love it! I’m doing week 6 run 2 tomorrow and then run 3 on Boxing Day, I’m really looking forward them
I did it!!! I finished week one! Boy, do I feel fantastic. It was so much easier by the third run. I can tell my body is slowly, but surely adjusting and WOWZERZ does it feel WONDERFUL!!! Thank you all for the support. We can DO this, ex-couch-potatoes!!!
