Been a difficult few weeks. Managed to do a few runs on holiday and whilst working in Costa Rica but not usual 5k. At Newcastle at the weekend and tempted to do the GNR next year! What was I thinking? Can only do5k and the max I have ever ran is 7k. Parkrun at the weekend will hopefully bring back routine and mojo!
Blimey, I did my usual 5k on Friday and then Hubby challenges me to join him on his 7k 40 min run on Saturday. I ma not one to chicken out plus he promised a glass of my fav later. BOy did I feel every bone in my body...Like I took a beating. No injuries thank goodness.
I rested Sunday as you do....And today my chimp brain was like...We did Friday and Saturday lets rest today...I said NO Lets got for our usual 5k. At least 25 mins. Guess what, I did 30 mins. I felt like I had lead in my legs for the last 10 mins but I did it...So maybe I should give it a break till Wednesday lol! No rest for the blessed!
How is everyone doing? By the way I didn't get my Lil Ribbon for completing the Couch to 5K so I feel like Billy-No-Mates #HapyNewWeek #YourPowerEchoes by the way that's the title f my Podcast on Soundcloud and iTunes too
Hi! Just done week 2 run 1. I actually coped MUCH better than I had anticipated and I'm so pleased with myself. My son has taken an interest too which is really good. He's a steriotypical lazy moody teen so I really think this will be a good thing for him, but if I push it he won't do it... so I'm just gonna let him see me improving and sticking with this and hope that alone encourages him! I'm REALLY hoping that this is the start of something great for both of us!! My final goal (this will be a long time off) is to do at least a 10k in Disneyland.
Hi. On Sunday I decided that I want to get into running again properly, so I have been looking into the best ways for a beginner to start off and just came across Couch to 5K which looks perfect. I will be popping to the sports shop tomorrow to buy myself some jogging gear (As I currently only own jeans). My current Aim is to complete the Disneyland Paris 10k next September and maybe eventually the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon. My dad said he would do the run at Disney with me, which is better motivation for me, so I won't be doing this on my own. I've never been fit enough to even dream of running 5k, but the structure of this course looks like it will work really well, and I have been enjoying reading everyone's posts which shows that it has worked for so many people so will hopefully work for me
