Missed a couple of runs this week due,to exhaustion from 7 days worth of of pre dawn dog walks, and late night ones too
So, runs stacking up! I raced last week too! A hard uphill slog so am feeling a bit like an old woman this morning. I did manage a goodly lie in though
So, 12k run lined up and I am off. Rain looms I suspect as it's gone very black out there 🙄
Parkruns. I just want to say that if you are thinking about doing one but are worried about not being able to run the full distance or not knowing anybody, don't worry at all. I wanted to do one and was encouraged to do so by many of the HealthUnlocked regulars. I didn't run it all and I didn't know anyone - at least for the first couple of minutes! I've only done two but they are now my regular Saturday morning fixture. The atmosphere, the camaraderie, the support - second to none. If you're worried about hills, check each individual run where they will give you an idea of what the circuit is like. I really struggled towards the end of the C25K programme but Parkruns have given me back my love of running.
I hate that they're only once a week! I get back home from my Parkrun and feel almost depressed that I have another seven days to wait until the next one!
Legs feeling shot this week, but still out there running the streets. but loving the time to think whilst running I do feel blessed that I have found running or stumbling forward in my case.
I've found week 7 really tough this week. Glancing at back posts it looks like that might be a fairly common thing. It was a bit disconcerting though, all the other weeks I've enjoyed and surprised myself, this one just felt like a right slog each time. I managed to do them and still had some puff left for the speed-up at the end, but I had to really force myself to keep going, it wasn't fun, and my new step counter thingy says I covered about 3.5K so I must be going reeeeally slow!
Any chance week 7 is a blip and it gets better next week?! I am not looking forward to having to keep going for 28 mins. I can't see myself being anywhere near 5K by the end of week 9!
Signed up for a 10K in April (will graduate C25K next week) on a spur of a moment post-run optimism and now feeling rather daunted! Struggling with 5K so far and not sure if my determination will hold up...
