Managed to graduate at last! Hard bit comes now to maintain the fitness without the programme! Thank you to everyone for your support in getting me to this point xx

Excellent, well done! :D Onwards and upwards! I just ran for 30 minutes for a couple of weeks then started increasing by 10% each week for my 'long' run, I still do a 30 min slow run and a fartlek run as this seems popular. I'm working towards 10k, not for any particular reason except it keeps me motivated to have a bit of a plan!

Thanks! It's interval training or running/walking fast and slow, alternating through the run. I do a 30-20-10 version which is fun: greatist.com/move/10-20-30-...

I don't push myself really really hard though as I dislike gasping for breath, but I do a sort of sprint as it's only for 10 seconds at a time!

It's worth a try! Actually I prefer this version as it's a bit longer but involves light jogging in between, not walking or stopping which seems a bit extreme and inviting injury to me:
