Ha, ha! The tables are turned! I live in Finland where it is (usually) about minus 10 by day and snowey by now, but our weather is actually warmer than the UK at the moment! We've had three snowfalls and thaws so far this year (very unusual, as it nearly always snows then stays Christmassey till April). So....the point of my post is to say that I decided to start my C25K running prog down in our nuke bunker (800 vehicle carpark) beneath our apartment complex! Always a balmy 13 degrees C down there and so perfect running "weather". The weather won't be runners' weather until March at the earliest here, so who knows, I might have completed B210K as well by then! P.s. can post photos for those interested in the "nuclear bunker C25K".
Solution to running in Uk blizzards - Nuke bun... - Couch to 5K
Solution to running in Uk blizzards - Nuke bunker C25K
That sounds really interesting. I've just finished reading Tim Moores' book The Cyclist Who Went Out in the Cold which involved cycling through Finland on a Communist era shopper bike... in snow.
I do love hearing about the different ways people complete the NHS C25K around the world and the challenges - the level of pollution in some cities, the heat etc
We're going to have to create a special graduation prize for the quirkiest place where people run the C25K programme I bet you'll be a potential winner! Good luck with the running!
Lol i did work in one in Essex in the 90's. The only running i would have done was back out the blast door at finishing time ! Good idea when snos deep though ! Great post
If I was at a nuclear bunker and saw someone running I would freak out, panic and run too π
