Park Run Saturday

So I have taken the plunge and signed up for the Whitley Bay park run next Saturday. No doubt it will be absolutely freezing on the north east coast but I can't wait. Will get my first post graduation run in tomorrow. Happy running everyone.

It was -8 when I got in the car this morning but there is not a lot of snow, hoping it will at least be the right side of zero come Saturday.

I personally don’t mind running in the cold..I was only wearing shorts and T shirt in 4deg, plenty warm enough once I’d got going!

I’m going to struggle in heat me thinks 😅

Whitley Bay was my home town through my teens.

I believe the parkrun is along the prom, so no shelter from an onshore North Sea breeze......... I will pray for Westerlies for you.

Really?, Whitley Bay has seen some bad times lately but it looks liked the Spanish City is finally going to be renovated, yes the route heads up the coast almost as far as St Mary's then loops back.

Last time I went back, for a school reunion twelve years ago, the old place was looking very sorry for itself..........

The old railway track past the High School is where I last ran before C25K, so has a poignancy for me.
