A beautiful crisp clear morning, lurgy fading and I was absolutely determined not only to graduate but to beat my personal records (I have always had a competitive streak). Set off at a good steady pace and felt pretty good throughout. Ended on 5.2k and 36 minutes running time with all the splits about 6.40 to 7.00. The longest time and furthest distance I have run so far.
I know everyone who graduates says it but 10 weeks ago when i started I never dreamt I would be able to do this as I huffed, puffed and staggered my way round 60 second runs.
The whole programme really is a miracle but the biggest miracle are the people in this forum and I want to thank each and everyone of you that has encouraged me on the way. It really is the most positive place on the internet.
To anyone starting out or struggling in the early weeks keep going, it is worth it and you will succeed.
For me now some consolidation runs until new year then it's Bridge to 10k.
Have a wonderful weekend to you all.

Very well done. Itβs an amazing journey isnβt it? About to attempt my own graduation run later on today.
Thanks so much Jan, had my determined head on today, looking forward to the Newcastle Park Run on the 30th although now thinking I may do one before that.
Yaaaaaaaaaay! Congratulations Graduate! Absolutely great to see you feeling better enough to get out and smash it! It really is the best feeling isn't it! I look forward to bridging to 5k with you! I'm doing the Christmas Day Parkrun and hoping to get out running next week, I pulled something in my back at work and haven't been out since last Saturday's Parkrun, frustrating and gutting! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, you awesome runner, you! X πππ
Thank you so much, get the back right then we will crack on together, I am booked for the Newcastle Park Run on the 30th but considering doing Whitley Bay next Saturday π
That would be lovely- might even drive up and do that sometime in spring or summer - it is where I spent my childhood walking the dog and doing very wild rollerskating!
