Gutted - had to abandon my run W7R1

Gutted this morning having achieved so much getting to this point. I started with pain over my right iliac crest (top of the hip bone) after week 6 but this morning about 15 mins into my run the pain was really cranking up and by the 20 min mark I was in agony and had to stop! I literally couldn’t run another step; it was so painful I was struggling to walk. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Help; I can’t stop now after coming so far. 😩😩😩

I had hip pain recently but have no idea which bit. I had run 33k though

Rest it! Then get to work strengthening it I’m using yoga, which I’m loving, having bought a dvd. Also, doing Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 dvd. The stronger we are the better our running

I couldn’t run another step either. I was just going up a little slope but couldn’t stand the pain. I rested it and was ok til my Marathon a few weeks later where I ran walked very steadily. It was ok with rest

It keeps niggling a bit post run now hence the yoga 🧘‍♀️

I hope you can sort it with rest 👍

Thankyou - 33k wow. I haven’t even got to 5 as yet. I’m not going to give up though. 👍

Ouch! I feel your pain having had to abandon W9r1 on Saturday due to calf pain. Take the advice to rest and don't be tempted to run again too soon. I'm sure I'll be put back a week or so, but we can still do it :)

Thanks Mike. The way it feels right now I know I would be foolish to even think about going out again this week! I’m so annoyed about it though grrrr 😠😠

So sorry for you... Get some rest, try to stretch if you're confident how to: you don't want to make it worse. And if it's still there after a couple of days, see a GP? Have you ever had that before running? It could only be muscular but induced by your posture when you run... Check your shoes (your favourites) to see if the soles are more worn out on one of your feet. Anyway, make sure you feel fine before your next run. Hope you'll be up to it soon!

How are you doing today? I'm off to a deep stretching class... My calves will hate it but afterwards, it feels great ;-) Have a nice day!
