Woo hoo. Park run in under 30 minutes

I know, I know. It's not about speed, it's not about distance. And I was only 6seconds under and it will probably be 6 months before I do it again. But allow me a few minutes to celebrate a milestone on what was a lovely run on a sunny, frosty, really cold day. I think the cold helps motivate faster running.

Hope everyone else doing it had a great Park run too.

This is the place to come and brag. We understand.

It just goes to show that speed does come with time.

Well done.

Well done you🎉🎉👍and be very proud a great achievement 👍

Thank you everyone. I partly put this down to C25K+ speed podcast. I seem to get faster the weeks I have used that. The programme just goes on being brilliant even after graduation.

Super speedy and well done you, I am in awe of your achievement, if you don't mind me being nosy how long have you been working on getting under the magic 30 minutes?

Great job.

Started C25k in may. Graduated in July. Trying to run 3 times a week since then. Usually managed 2. I like running fast so struggled to slow down enough for 30 minutes. Plus lots of hills here which I hate but they do make you stronger.

Okay I've been focussing on running longer distance and ignoring speeds, maybe I should relook at the speed podcast, which I did look at in September and thought maybe not... Time for a re-think I think!

Thanks

Give it a go. I can't get on with the others but I enjoy that one. It has the added benefit of a good work out in half the time.

Okay I think that could be Tuesday's run sorted!

There is definitely a trade off between speed and distance. Saw a friend today and told her my news. This is a friend who has been running half marathons for years. She said wow not sure I could do a sub 30 5k. Pretty sure I will never do a half marathon.

Okay I am going to do some mixing it up and see where it takes me! Thanks for sharing the info, it does help a lot

Well done. So jealous. Was planning my first parkrun (I would have been much slower) but IC for me.

I was slower on my first one. Hope you are better soon. Enjoy your Park run when you are ready.
