Well, after running for 5k on Sunday I had my first failed run tonight. The weather was horrible, wet and windy and despite using my blue inhaler before setting off my chest felt tight from the start. I tried to get into a steady rhythm but it just got steadily worse and after 20 minutes and 2.5k I had to stop. The legs were fine, energy levels were good but I just couldn't get my breath. Disappointed but will try again in a couple of days.

Week 8 Run 2 Failed, beaten by rain, wind and asthma.
I’ve just had my first fail tonight also! Still at least we got out there and tried so we are maintaining fitness for next run, which hopefully will be a better one for both of us.
No such word on here... you know why it happened... and that is not a 'f***'
Relax...re-group.... slow down and head out again!
You succeeded..you got out there and you ran. The weather was foul last night. I am several weeksmall post graduating and really struggled with the should I run or not gremain last night. My trick is to get in my running gear ando then work out when I can fit it in around kids and commitments. Off I went...couldn't believe the wind...I really struggled running in to that. I just revert to the little things this forum has put into my head over the months. Just as I was doing warm doenough it started to rain. .I ran the last few metres to home as it was coming down heavier. 10 minutes letter the wEsther was awful...pouring and very gusty.
You did not fail...you did...Ran in the rain and the wind. Great achievement. And repeating the run so it can be ticked off is more distance under your belt. Keep at it. I hate the wind and the rain.
