Running shoe recommendations?

Well I've been using a knackered pair of 6 year old Reebok Classics for running in. Now I've been keeping this running lark up for 4 weeks I'm starting to think about treating myself to a new pair lol

Any recommendations for brands, types? Or better still stuff to avoid that will fall apart in 2 months like my last pair of adidas did :(

You probably need to go to a running shop for a proper fitting and gait analysis as everyone’s feet are different. I love Asics and Brooks but that’s because I have a neutral foot and square toes so their fit suits me. You need to treat yourself to a shopping trip and have a test run. Your feet will soon tell you when you’ve found the right pair.

And just to add to the variance element, i also wear Brooks but i overpronate so have a support model. I also have their wide fit!

Visit an independent running specialist shop, dont take chances. Your shoes are your main bit of kit.

I LOVE buying new running shoes. Go to a running shop for advice on getting the right pair for you. The difference this makes is huge! I wear ASICS cos I have narrow feet. Be sure to get a gait analysis too. Happy running. 🏃‍♀️

All of the above. Any recommendations of our favourite shoes may be totally inappropriate for you, so get a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop and follow their advice.

Well, you wouldn't put crap tyres on a decent car...

Go to a specialist shop as @IannodaTruffe says, and ensure they give you the option to try them at home (albeit indoors) exchange them if you're not completely happy. I did just that, ending up with a brand I'd never heard of but that are spot on for my skinny, narrow-heeled tootsies. Not cheap (£100+) but my target is a half-marathon next Spring so I'll be getting a lot of mileage out of them. A worthwhile investment.
