W5 R3 Can't believe I did that!

I've been lurking here for a few weeks getting lots of good tips and encouragement and working my way through the runs. I wasn't looking forward to this one at all as I couldn't believe I could go from 8 minutes constant running to 20 with nothing in between, I even repeated run 2 because I couldn't face moving on. Anyway today I decided to go for it, I read lots of supportive posts just before I set off and I made it! It wasn't even that terrible.

I've just had a sneak peek at the next run. What's going on? I assumed I'd be doing 25 minutes in a couple of days and then maybe a marathon but the next one is just 8 minutes. Mind you I haven't looked any further than that so I maybe in for a shock later in the week.

Yay! Well done! It's an ace run, that one. Allows you to see the results of all the good work you have put in so far.

Don't fret about the return of the intervals in week 6. They are there for a reason, and only 2 of the 3 runs involve intervals. If you go out on each run thinking, "yup, I got this", you will be fine. Never worry about the runs to come! No need!

Congratulations on your milestone run.

W6R1 is actually the longest session that you will have done in the programme, so don't underestimate it. Don't discount the walking intervals, they are all part of the workout.

Well done, it's a great achievement getting through that run, don't get caught out by week 6 like me (and many others).

Well done on wk 5 run 3! I did mine on Sunday too! Really does feel like a tremendous achievement!

I’m slightly puzzled by people saying that week 6 run 1 is hard. It’s 5, 8, & 5 mins running, 18 in total. That’s less than the 20 mins of the last run. Personally I was pleased about this as I’d been wondering whether to do a repeat, but this fitted me perfectly. I can do circuits of our small town aligning the walks with the steepest uphill bit! :-)
