For I think I've sinned! I hope you'll all welcome me back?
Graduated a few years ago with the help of you all on this wonderful forum, carried on running and became smitten by, sssh, hushed tones....... Cycling! After all you did for me I crossed the line, spurned all attempts to stay and went to that place where the grass is always greener (?)
Off I went doing all sorts of two-wheeled things, built up my distances from 10 to 20 miles, thought I was going great so up to 50, London to Brighton each year for the BHF and eventually to 100 mile rides. Last year London to Paris for Parkinsons (which Dad succumbed to in his latter years) and after that I felt that I yearned for something back again, something that gave me so much pleasure, achievement and a sense of community.
So, back I eventually went to week 1 and got the body back into the programme and you know what happened next? Thought I might have a go at this 10k thingy and am 3 runs off completing it.....
So, back to the title and opening statement, can you find it in your hearts to forgive, and welcome back this doddery old misguided fool after a brief affair of the heart, can you please?
I throw myself to your mercy....

I have had a recent skirmish with two wheels to get me over injuries and while there is the superficial appeal of covering more ground, the velocipede has to take second place to the human honesty of running.
I think abbess RFC, sister Ju-ju and novice Oldfloss might judge you harshly for your contrary nature, while I can recognise the mere mortal male who wanders from the true path, seduced by shiny chrome and tinkling bells, as a fellow sinner, who should be welcomed back into the fold.
Alright mate, good to see you back, now you've rejected the dark side.
Thanks Truffe, not sure that Sister Ju Ju will be immediately forgiving what with her views on cyclists but I can hope, life can be cruel sometimes though 😁
Welcome back, we won’t hold it against you.😏. Sounds like you done some amazing things while you have been away, I always say C25K is just the start of a journey that can take you places you wouldn’t expect.
Well it certainly seems you achieved a lot on those two wheels. Well done for that.in the meantime welcome back to the running forum. Hope you’re enjoying being back into it. 😀
I thought about buying one of those two wheeled things but after banging my head against the kitchen wall a time or two I got over it.
On a serious note though yes welcome back though it does sound as though your affair with pushbike was a little more than brief and was quite fruitful.
Life is for living and trying new things but sometimes the return to the comfort of our 1st love will bring new joy
Welcome back They didn't get rid of me, after over a year of trying to finish the programme, with many ups & downs & ICs & lazy-breaks & mojo lost and found. So they / we will welcome you back with open arms and hearts.
It sounds like your side love helped you achieve many glorious things. Running is not marriage, having something on the side may actually help you with running as long as you don't neglect the first and only true love.
