Reruns and W5R3 - celebrating!

Morning guys. Set out for my second try at W5R3 and boy did I smash it! Lol! Well not exactly as I was jogging along at a snails pace, but I did manage to run for twenty minutes nonstop, so feeling really energised and happy now. Aaaand the rain held off too so I got home dry, another reason to celebrate! This seems to be the way I work, needing to have a couple of goes at each big run, so I’m taking a lot longer to work through the C25k programme. Have to say though that I’m amazing myself, and my family, who are cheering me on. Maybe one day I will get one of them to join me?!

Why not indeed check out rolysmate he is our stealth recruiter... people run with him and they don’t even know they have! Well done you.

Thanks, Hidden i think I have a few forum faithfuls on my mind when I run, their example spurring me on! To have some of my family join me on my runs would be amazing so I must do some stealth recruiting myself - I’d get double the joy, and be able to spread it too!

Well done getting that run under your belt, big run and a confidence booster as well

Thanks so much rolysmate ! Felt amazing after my run this morning. I think I will have to try this stealth recruitment as I would really enjoy having a jogging companion. You must be feeling fantastic at the success of your poppy run and mrsrolysmate’s achievement!. I have to say that my mantra prior to discovering the c25k was I can walk but I can’t run, but this programme is changing me into a more positive person, and now my mantra is I will run!! Well done on your run!

The beauty of C25k is its flexibility.......Do it your way!!

Well done on conquering that milestone and I always warn everybody to be wary of W6R1, because it does catch some out.

keep running, keep smiling.

Sounds like really good advice, IannodaTruffe , though the smiles come easily when I am running, especially when I hit my goal. Will probably have to take a few attempts at W6R1 but won’t be discouraged because now I know the programme works, and my fitness is improving all the time. Amazed I’ve got this far!

Well done, I think when you get that BIG run under your belt that the rest somehow seems more achievable! My husband comes out with me when he can but he has much longer legs than me, also built to run, long and lean whereas I am a little square dwarf... and very quickly is away ahead but it is nice to have someone to talk to on the warm up walks.

You’re right, Br0ughd3rg about that big run! I managed w6r1 last night and amazed myself again. But it would be lovely to have company. I’ve been trying to recruit some of my family, maybe not so stealthily and subtly as rolysmate but you never know! Will keep you all posted if I manage to recruit another c25ker!
