So, I graduated just over a week ago, and despite some hip niggles (which seem to be on the mend now, after some gentle targeted stretching and strengthening) I have managed two lovely 30 minute runs. My aim is to run 3x 30 mins a week to consolidate and continue to build those running legs, then maybe try some speed and stamina sessions. Next year - maybe 10k training all being well.
Yesterday I got around to the thing I had been promising myself as a reward and ta-dah! Beautiful new ASICS! I had been running in an "inherited" (but only worn 3 times) ASICS from my sister (also neutral gait), but truth be told, they were probably a half size too small. These babies, however, fit me a treat. May be trying the out tomorrow...cannot wait.
Happy running everyone. x

I know. π I want to run today, but I am having my hallowed rest day. Was thinking of taking 2 days rest...but the shoes man! They are whispering, pleading, "take me out tomorrow, Sadie, let me show you what we can do...". π Green is my favourite colour. x
I know, the sacred rest day. Keep having those as itβs when your running legs are being built
In the meantime you can gaze longingly, lovingly at your gorgeous new daps and plan your future together when you disappear over the horizon together. Who knows where they might take you πͺπββοΈπβοΈ
Oh they are lovely!! And well deserved. You have the same post-grad plan as me. Iβm still on my 3 x 30 min runs now and enjoying being βa runnerβ. Maybe I need some fancy new trainers too ...
Thanks Glossy! I am content with being a "runner" for now, too...as soon as I get bored, I will mix it up a bit with a new challenge. Congrats on your post-gradness!
The green! I am in love with the green. The top bits are grey (but look black in the photo). I feel very brand loyal to ASICS, and had been stalking them for a couple of weeks online before trying them on in a store.
Hello Sadie and congrats on your earlier graduation, that's fab π
3x30 mins running a week sounds ideal to me, plus 30 mins is a great duration for exercise too. Love your Asics, I did my gait analysis in a pair from the shop and have 2 pairs now. My feet are narrow and I have a high instep, my left foot on touch to the ground, leant in, but I can't remember now whether it's under or over pronation or neutral. But the two different Asics work well. I have the Gel 4 Contend and the Galaxy 9. The pink Gel 4 are the best fit though.
You'll be doing so well once you get out there and what a well deserved treat. Good luck lovely x
Thank you so much, QB! I do hope they perform as good as they look, took me a while to find a pair I liked. These also have some kind of fancy light-reflective tech going on in the fabric (apparently) which should help me on my dark early morning runs (that I love!)
How are you getting on since graduating? I hope that you are doing great and well in your stride!
Ah, you're welcome lovely. πYou'll definately be seen with those trainers and passers by will wanting a pair too, haha. They are cool, I haven't seen that colour and I've looked all over. I bought mine for Β£35 from "MandMdirect" Wonderful bargains on that site x
Niiiice...I like those...I havenβt had my new trainers very long but with all the mud & puddles Iβve splashed my way through theyβre looking a bit hard done to!! They are so comfy though & it makes such a difference when you find the right pair. Enjoy the maiden voyage πππΌββοΈ X
