If you do a search on the forum you will find loads of posts like yours and loads of posts from people who felt just like you but amazed themselves when they managed to complete the run first time.

Each run prepares you for the next one, so you are ready, you just don't believe it.

Your last workout was 21 minutes in total, excluding warmup and cool down, so you will be moving for a shorter time on the next run.

Be positive. What is the worst that can happen? You have to repeat a run.........big deal.

You can do this, believe me.

I also thought I wouldn't be able to do it. It's actually easier than the two eight minute runs. Just start slowly and after a while you get into a rhythm. So satisfying when you've done this run. You really feel you can run. Good luck.

Hiya....

Oh yes the dreaded 20 minute run. Think that run sent shock waves through all of us but what you'll find aswell is that most of us completed that run and surprised ourselves.

You are going to be fine. Just remember that the next run for you will definitely be a mental challenge. Stay positive throughout the run and you will succeed.

Best advice given to me was the good ole classic advice given to us from the start..... Slow and steady.

Get some sleep tonight, stay hydrated, during the run remember your breathing and you will be ok. It's a run that tests you. Not only physically but mentally. But you will be so happy once you complete it.

I wish you good luck and keep us updated.x

I felt daunted by this one, but knew that the program works. I went very very slow so my energy would last - and it did!

You can do it, snails rock! 😃

That’s exactly how I felt but somehow I managed to do it. You’ll be fine. Easier said than done but try not to overthink it.

I'm due to do that run tomorrow. Please post how you get on. There is so much encouragement on this forum that you have to believe in the programme and go for it.

I did this a week ago and trust me, and everyone else who says the same, the anticipation is worse than the doing- honest! Your coach( I use Sarah) will really encourage you on and once I was halfway, I just counted backwards to the finish! You can do this- you really can. Onwards and upwards- we’re all behind you. Don’t forget to post your success! 😀

You will be amazed. Find somewhere nice to run, enjoy the scenery, get some good music and lose yourself in the run and you'll be surprised at how well you do.

Good luck. 🤞🏽

This is your break out run! (Thanks Strictly)

After this everything else (seems) to become manageable and progress is more tangible. When I conquered this run, I floated on cloud 95, even graduation didn't have the same feeling of elation. Yes I was scared of it, but I'm the other side of it and feeling smug!

Most of us felt exactly like you. I was really nervous before, but I completed it! I ran it about 8am and I was still on a high when my son came in from college at 3pm. Could not stop grinning! 😀

Don’t overthink it! Just do what you’ve been doing up until this point. You’ll surprise yourself - believe me! 👍

If you completed it, you are ready to move on. I think it's just to reassure you that you can do the programme over longer and repeat if you want to. Maybe it's reverse psychology and just gets more people going "NO I'm READY to move on!" I honestly don't remember her saying it and am always surprised when people mention it ... maybe I should repeat week 5 to see :D

We told you.

Can you put a new big post up declaring your success, because it is seeing those that makes people believe they can do the same.............if you can stop putting all your energy into that great big grin, that is.

Congratulations, but show respect to each of the following runs.

I was a bit surprised too. The comments from Jo at the end sounded as if most people don’t get through it first time and need to repeat!

I did my WK5R3 this morning too, it was tough but great. Partly my fault for choosing a different route which involved some hills and I started running while still going uphill!

I was still 1km from home when Jo finished and then managed to run again from that point home, so did 41mins & 4.89km.

Felt amazing! My body aches from head to toe and I’m exhausted, expecting a good sleep tonight!!
