Week 3 and gaining weight

Is it normal to gain weight after starting the programme? I'm new to running and really enjoying the C25K but was shocked when I got on the scales this morning! I eat healthily, have a moderate fitness level and so this is a complete mystery to me. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Muscle weighs more than fat, so that can account for a small increase.

More common is people actually eating more because they are exercising. You don't need to do this.

I don't weigh myself regularly enough to know whether I increased weight or not.
