Second week of the course and I’m finding it hard. From zero exercise and being overweight to running for 90 seconds.......a wee tip... do not look at what the weeks ahead hold! 😱😱

Don't worry about what is ahead. Each week jumps up a bit .. relative to the previous week the jump is small ... But if you look at it a number of weeks ahead it can be daunting. When you get there it isn't. Trust me I was the same and am now in week 9.

Looking ahead is something that we’re all guilty of doing but in the end I stopped as the prospect of some of the longer runs made me want to give up!!

Just keep your running slow and steady. Concentrate on the run that you are about to do. Make sure you’re hydrated and have taken some fuel on board, a banana or a weetabix usually works for me, take an extra rest day if needed, there is no shame in taking 2 rest days, and then try to enjoy the run.

Keep posting here as we will encourage to keep going and congratulate you when you achieve 😊😊

Hi

Was very similar. Overweight and no exercise for years. When I started a minute seemed impossible, then as the times increased it was daunting. My advice is believe in this programme and listen to the advice of the more experienced runner on this forum . Take your runs slowly (advice from old flo).

There were some weeks I thought the programme was designed to kill me personally , there was a couple of times I couldn’t complete and had redo a run a few days late.

Last night I completed Wk8 which is 28 minutes running , which I never thought would be possible a couple of months ago but thanks to this programme and the great advice from this community I managed and if I can do it anybody can . Good luck

We all do it! But honestly it isn’t anything to worry about. You just build your stamina slowly and the programme works. Happy running πŸ‘
