Week 4 Run 2 - mixed thoughts

Just completed mid week run of week 4, forgot the parkrun was on and got caught up on some of my run route, marshall told me off for cutting a corner and lost some time explaining I wasn’t on the park run... km 3 affected. Lovely lady though and will be signing up later today to do my first parkrun in a couple of weeks time.

Struggled with aching muscles today from the start, did some spin at the gym last night and think I over did it. Also was starting to pant a bit towards the end of the 5min sections but just slowed down a tad and worked through it.

Managed to tag an extra 90sec onto the last 5 min run, so was happy with that.

Run 3 on Monday ... mixed feelings about week 5 but guess it has to happen eventually!!

Have a great weekend everyone ❤️

Haha turns out park runs are only good if you’re on them! Well done for completing it! I don’t know whether you do this too but I find I build up speed without noticing and then I’m knackered and realise I must have been going too fast! Shame I can’t pick up on it before I’m gasping for breath 😂 have a lovely weekend

Think you hit the nail on the head there Minnow. Short of constantly looking at my watch, not sure how to fix it. I guess pacing will come with time.

I’m sure it will, once we’ve got to 5k we can start to improve pace then we won’t have the problem as we’ll be conditioned for it. Roll on those days!

Ha! We have a couple of corners that don't usually have marshals where people cut a few meters off. Sounds like the volunteer takes their marshaling duty seriously. :)

Happy running.
