Hi everyone...Am so chuffed that I had to share this with you all nice encouraging people out there...!!!

I ran for 5 kms today with a 20 sec walk at about 4.7 kms. It took me 34 min 21 secs to finish it. I am just happy that I could run for 5K and am ready for a 5K race I have signed up for!!!

Good! Gradual progression and not going too fast too soon

I over did it and got laid off 😩🙄👎. Lesson learned

Enjoy your running 😃

Here comes one from 'over doer'. I famously pushed myself throughout , 'l can do it, right'.

All my week 9 runs were done as 5K in 30 min and below.

On the very last graduation run the foot flared up and l was stupidly running through pain. That literary meant 3.5 months off running. Idiot's Award.

Leave speed and hard runs with no rest days to young trained professional world class competitors. We need to focus on slow relaxed steady runs,

Or you can try my way? ;)

Ouch!!!

I guess I should stop thinking about sub30 min 5K run for some time now and just focus on finishing :)

We are all different and some find it very difficult to get to that mark. Besides, this is not about hitting 5K in 30 mins - this is about running for 30 minutes continuously. Marked difference that could spare you from injury misery.

Well done, a great achievement.

To be honest you are unlikely to knock four minutes off your time on the next run. 5k in 30 mins is a pretty arbitrary target and it will still be there post graduation. However, if you did parkrun then I reckon that you will hit that target version soon.

One to go.........

5K in 30 mins was my target for the race which is in 30 days from now...However, even that seems unlikely. and that is ok...I will still be very happy to just finish and carry on running on regular basis....

No park runs around me...(am in India for a couple of years...) missing UK so much!!!

Enjoy the run. Your time will be your time and you should be proud of it. Over the months and years you will have the pleasure of chipping away at it.
