Treated myself to actual running shoes - lovely bright orange Nike ones. Set off today, loving the trainers, the running, the time of day - all is good. Suddenly, I realised I was much further round in my route than usual, then Sarah cut in to say I had run for 10 minutes...no way 10 minutes, only 10 minutes?? I had been going way faster than usual and until Sarah spoke I was OK, but psychologically realising I had another 18 to go really upset the apple cart!!!
I had to add a loop onto to my usual route, muddying my lovely trainers βΉοΈ, my legs ached and I struggled - the last 5 minutes was really really hard. Usually I can really go for it in the last minute, but my tank was empty. Lesson learnt!

But you made it anyway, right? Well done!
Thanks for the lesson though, I start week 8 tomorrow, so I shall remember the mantra, slow and steady!!
I did a similar thing last night on W7R1, I thought I was crawling round, oh no, had put a loop onto my run too. I think we just get a bit giddy ... π
Important things ... we realised our mistake and now try to correct it, and we finished anyway ...
I did this exact same thing on my W7R1 yesterday. In my head I was going really slowly but in reality, not so much. Had to add a bit on to my route and ended up doing the last two minutes of the warm-down walk round and round my garden patio.
πππ, I'm pleased I got mine done before I reached home my rear garden is only 20' square!!! Would have looked like a dog chasing its tail !!! πππ πΆ
