Treated myself to actual running shoes - lovely bright orange Nike ones. Set off today, loving the trainers, the running, the time of day - all is good. Suddenly, I realised I was much further round in my route than usual, then Sarah cut in to say I had run for 10 minutes...no way 10 minutes, only 10 minutes?? I had been going way faster than usual and until Sarah spoke I was OK, but psychologically realising I had another 18 to go really upset the apple cart!!!
I had to add a loop onto to my usual route, muddying my lovely trainers ☹️, my legs ached and I struggled - the last 5 minutes was really really hard. Usually I can really go for it in the last minute, but my tank was empty. Lesson learnt!
