Week 6 Complete, third Parkrun complete and PB beat

Week 6 Complete, third Parkrun complete and PB beat

After a long stressful and tiring week, I decided to get up and run this morning. I’ve been repeating Week 6 Run 2 and decided it was time for the 25 minute run. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as I had thought. I had a 30 second brisk walk after the 25 minutes and then ran again until I reached the finishing line.

According to STRAVA, I got 31:30 5K personal best but my Parkrun official record was 33:55. I’m a bit stumped as to why there is much a gap between the two times. My watch had 31:30 so I am guessing the timer starts at the whistle. I will have to start near the middle and not the back next time.

Anyway, I’ve officially made it to runner on C25K.

  • Well done you 👏keep going.

  • Well done! Thats an excellent pace too. Try not to push too far too soon and enjoy 😀🏃🏻‍♀️

  • Thank you. I’m definitely not going to push myself. Technically, I should have finished the C25K programme three weeks ago but I’ve repeated certain runs to pace myself.

  • Excellent pace and very well done to you. Your doing great. 3 weeks to go to graduation. Should be no problem to you.

  • Thank you. Now that I’m running for over 30 minutes, I’m sure I can complete these 25 minute slots.

  • 9 weeks is stretchy here. So glad you've managed to keep going!! Brilliant.

  • Great run.. keep it slow and steady up to that Podium:)

  • Well done, what a great time regardless of which one you look at. The timers at parkrun definitely do start on the whistle so if you really need to shave a few seconds off move forward a bit but not so much you get run over by the real keen beans.

  • That's good to know. I will try to position myself just behind midway next time. I feel I'm running past too many people at the beginning. I stand at the back because I worry I'm not that good but I'm clearly making some progress.

  • Tattie to track star! Great time- well done!

  • OMG you are a natural! Very well done, there'll be no stopping you to the finish line in a couple of weeks. :)

  • Haha. Thanks. I’m aiming for a sub 30 Run so I push myself a little each week. Hopefully, I will reach that target by the end of the year.

  • Well done!

  • You always were a runner, you were the day you put your trainers on and went outside...

  • Thank you! I took part in cross country when I was 8 years old. I have it up for some reason but I’m glad I got back into it.
