Week 6 Complete, third Parkrun complete and PB beat

After a long stressful and tiring week, I decided to get up and run this morning. I’ve been repeating Week 6 Run 2 and decided it was time for the 25 minute run. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as I had thought. I had a 30 second brisk walk after the 25 minutes and then ran again until I reached the finishing line.

According to STRAVA, I got 31:30 5K personal best but my Parkrun official record was 33:55. I’m a bit stumped as to why there is much a gap between the two times. My watch had 31:30 so I am guessing the timer starts at the whistle. I will have to start near the middle and not the back next time.

Anyway, I’ve officially made it to runner on C25K.

Well done! Thats an excellent pace too. Try not to push too far too soon and enjoy 😀🏃🏻‍♀️

Thank you. I’m definitely not going to push myself. Technically, I should have finished the C25K programme three weeks ago but I’ve repeated certain runs to pace myself.

Excellent pace and very well done to you. Your doing great. 3 weeks to go to graduation. Should be no problem to you.

Thank you. Now that I’m running for over 30 minutes, I’m sure I can complete these 25 minute slots.

Well done, what a great time regardless of which one you look at. The timers at parkrun definitely do start on the whistle so if you really need to shave a few seconds off move forward a bit but not so much you get run over by the real keen beans.

That's good to know. I will try to position myself just behind midway next time. I feel I'm running past too many people at the beginning. I stand at the back because I worry I'm not that good but I'm clearly making some progress.

OMG you are a natural! Very well done, there'll be no stopping you to the finish line in a couple of weeks. :)

Haha. Thanks. I’m aiming for a sub 30 Run so I push myself a little each week. Hopefully, I will reach that target by the end of the year.

Well done!

You always were a runner, you were the day you put your trainers on and went outside...

Thank you! I took part in cross country when I was 8 years old. I have it up for some reason but I’m glad I got back into it.
