So all of those ‘healthy fitness bars’ you see on the supermarket shelves always seem to be full of sugar and E numbers and stuff so today enough was enough.
500g of almonds, 250g of currants, baskets of hazelnuts and walnuts from the local woods, currants, sultanas, oatmeal (Gluten Free as Mrs GB has been gluten intolerant since birth), dates, figs, dried banana chips, sesame seeds and a nip to the expat shop for some Lyles Golden Syrup and it was like a cross between Marco Pierre White and Rusty Lee in our kitchen.
Now have a fridge full of nutty bars to match the forum full of nutty people.
This C25K program changes your lifestyle in many ways.
Enjoy the journey.

Fortunately for my waistline I'm allergic to almonds and you live in another country. Otherwise you might experience a mysterious burglary and hear a strange scoffing sound...
They are certainly not for daily consumption thats for sure.
No added sugar in there other than the treacle ( )
Did the calculations this morning based on kcal per the packets that went in plus an assumption on the nuts and hazelnuts and for the total mixture it was around 8,400 calories. Although loads of kj energy as well.
Did the total weight and calculated kcal per gram and they are just under 7cal a gram. So a 2cm by 2cm weighs around 30g so about 210cal
Will be going into the freezer for winter when its not getting above -20C here during the day.
The currants, sultanas, figs and dates are all concentrated fructose though. Which is fine and good and a whole lot better than refined sugar, but is all still sugar. I bet you won't be able to keep yourself to just one 2cm square either. LOL.
Mmmm nice mmmm nice mmmm nice. Mmm better go for a run!
