Well done for getting started. I think I took 3 weeks to do the first 2 weeks taking some extra rest days between the official rest days!! Initially I ached on the run days and on the rest days so that the aches seemed to merge into one. Now on week 6 and the aches are still there but only last for a few hours. Stay mentally strong and the body will follow. And you will find a lot of people telling you “slow and steady” - trust them it works.

Thanks for the advise , I’m probably being too ambitious and going out to fast .

I'm also 56 and over weight (4.7st) but we are doing something about it!! I've just completed week one and what an achievement that is for both of us. Well done for getting up

and getting out there together

We can do this with all this support on this great forum. 👍😀

I had a blip in week 2 and had to ease up for nearly a week. I adjusted my speed as I think I was too speedy in W1. You'll find your comfortable pace soon and the runs will feel better :D
