Just completed my very first run, can't believe at the age of 51.5 I was able to complete it. Thought bits might fall off half way round!

Excellent. The first steps are the hardest (mind you the 2nd and 3rd are pretty tough too 😀)

Looking forward to the challenge! Thankyou

The bits that fall off you don't need anyway... like lack of confidence that's a bit that can fall off with no impact on your running whatsoever...

The other bit that can fall off is the runner's embarrassment, that also makes no difference if you lose it early.

Seriously well done on joining the best running club in the world, run, post and run again and we will support you as much as we can.

Take your time and take you rest, there's no shortcut to a running life.

Well done and happy running for rest of your week

Thank you for your support, I kept running and thought that I was doing something about my health, however it was getting dark!

Me too

Whoever designed this plan knew what they were doing

Not convinced I can run 20 mins next time though- that seems like a challenge too far

You've done the hardest bit getting out there though there's every chance a few more bits may fall off yet lol

Well as a nearly 50, fat and unfit person who is still in week one, I feel your pain. But we can do this together, keep at it and well done x

I'm 52, very overweight and I recently graduated this fabulous program. Take it one run at a time and have your rest days. I sometimes took two. You can do it and you will feel fantastic. Keep posting on here for great support. Good luck!

I'm 64 and 1/3 of the way through week 8 so don't worry about your age!

Fifitat50 - I know how you feel! I started running at 56! I am just getting to week 8, had to go back to week 6 to conquer the run without a brief fast walk in between to catch my breath. I can't contain my excitement to run 5ks! Already participated (notice I didn't say "ran") in my first 5k (it was a mud run - I liked the mud more than the running - lol!) and can't wait until my 2nd one to try to get longer runs without walking and to get better time. You can do it!!!!

Well done, I’m 61.5 and did my first ever run yesterday- still all in one piece I think! Keep it up
