First park run completed.

Today I completed my first parkrun. I was so nervous about this I barely slept at all last night, consequently I got up feeling absolutely terrible. I was not to be put off though as I had told that many people I was doing it I didn't dare back out. I have to say I did find it really really tough even though I have been running 5k 3 times a week since graduation 3 weeks ago. When I finished I totally forgot to do my stretches ( not sure if that was down to exhaustion or relief that I managed to finish) so now my legs are feeling stiff and achy. I will not be put off though and aiming to repeat this next week hopefully with a good nights sleep. I managed a time of 33:54 which put me in 259th place. looks like I have a long way to go!! Roll on next week!

Thank you. When I started c25k I never really thought I would achieve a 5k run. I originally started the programme because I was on a 100 day step challenge and was looking at ways to improve the number of steps I was doing. Now I am totally addicted to running

Well done you... keep it slow and steady and don't forget to stretch!! Make sure you get loads of consolidation in of the thirty minute runs:)

Well done, that's a great time, who knows with a good night's sleep you might beat that next week.

Thank you. I think sometimes I forget how old I am and expect a little too much from myself.

That's amazing! I'm on week 8 and did my first Parkrun. ...well jog with few secs of walking! I came last out of 40 runners to a huge round of applause! And I felt such elation! Keep at it and well done! 😁
