I've just started this programme and we want to continue with it while on holiday in Portugal. As I've not done this before I just wondered if anyone had any tips for running in heat. Thanks

This programme is excellent! There is not too much jogging at the beginning, just a minute at a time and the rest is walking. You could avoid the heat of the day and turn out earlier in the day or later in the evening

Good luck. Be very slow!!!!!!!!! That's the advice for the whole programme. S L O W!

I was working in California and Canada for 3 weeks in September so my recommendation would be to get out early. Very early.

I was out by 0530 but that was because I was starting work at 0730. Even then it was 22C by the time I was finishing> Just get out as soon as you can. I preferred morning to evening as by the evening the buildings and pavements have soaked up the daytime heat.

If you normally wear a bandana then soak it in cold water before you leave. Also nice to have that feeling of cold water trickle down your back now and then.

Also, as JanCanRun always recommends, half fill a water bottle and put it in the freezer overnight then top it up with water before you leave. Gives you cold water and also an ice pack.

Just make sure the night before you are running you dont go mad on the sangria!

Early morng runs are great on holiday. Gives you a chance to see it and take it all in before the masses arrive.

Also makes the run go a lot quicker!

Enjoy. And post some pics!!

Good hydration the day before and get up early, rehydrate straight after you run.
