I posted a few days ago about whether to take my running gear on holiday... and I did.
Whilst the family were snoring their heads off at 6am this morning I crept out to see if I could work off some of the naughty food I consumed yesterday. I'm on a cruise ship and the running track is on the top deck and the ship was still sailing towards the French dock as I started my run, which was weird because the scenery was moving as was I so that made a nice change to the backdrop I normally run against at home.
It was still dark(ish) as I began my run so lots of twinkly lights too!
On a side note, I was running slow and steady this morning as I know that's the only way I can complete the run (W7 R2) when some bloke, I reckon at least 10 years my senior, started running on the track too. I was probably about 13 or 14 minutes in by this point and he whooshes past me. My guess was part of this was down to ability but mostly down to him showing off. I'm not intimidated though and carry on in my Steady Eddie style. Whoosh, he goes past again. And again. As I slowly catch him up, I see him walking a bit and looking shattered. I felt a little bit smug that by the end of my 25 mins I'd not needed to walk at all. Ha! Love C25k :-).
I feel good that I've carried on C25K this week. I feel better for it.

Well done mrs and that for sure is an experience I'm sure you never expected to have and loving the slow and steady as it shows that it does win the race
Yay, go you! What a great place to run! I brought my running shoes to Slovenia and did W8R2 by the lake at 6.30am, really glad I did. Next one tomorrow!
Wow, what a lovely way to run, on board a cruise ship with changing scenery. It sounds idyllic. And well done for showing that smarty pants a thing or two about stamina.
Well done! Running on a moving ship made me feel quite queasy π
I have been on holiday this week, running in pastures new, it's a great booster isn't it. Your thundering fellow runner was trying to impress you. If only he was a member here then he'd know that slow and steady Gets the job done πͺπββοΈβοΈπ
Brilliantly done and for sure the old fable about the tortoise and the hare resonates! Gorgeous view and so well done that you not only packed your trainers but used them too. Fab.
