I graduated from C25k on Saturday and if you have read my post you'll know how excited I was but that elusive was playing on my mind.

So today I got back on the treadmill with the intention of reaching that magic number. I took it really slow and steady as some of you will be pleased to hear.

I only walked for 3 mins for a warm up as I'd had a brisk walk to the gym. It took me 39 mins and 37 secs to get to 5k with that 3 min walk which I was over the moon with.

I was happy with my run, I know that doing it on the treadmill is perhaps somewhat controversial but for me it works.

I now have something to work from and my 10k training has begun in earnest. I have 12 weeks to get there.

Sounds to me as if you've got more than enough determination to get there

It was on a treadmill which I do find easier than outside. I'm going to do my first park run on Saturday so I shall wait to see what that time is.

I have a good reason to train. I'm raising money for the ms society in memory of my sister

Well done.

Is your 10k an outdoor event? If so make sure you get plenty of time running outdoors.

10k on the dreadmill is not the same as being on terra firma.

My 10k is outside and the training plan I have in mind includes at least 1 5k run outside a week being a park run or on my own.

I'm also planning on using the treadmill to increase my stamina by increasing the incline.

I don't feel safe running outside on my own in the dark so I don't really have a choice

I know in an ideal world and all that. I'm up before the sun and home after it's set even at this time of year 5 days a week thanks to the hours I have to work. And I've got to stick to a day off between runs otherwise I could do as advised. 1 or perhaps 2 runs a week will have to do for now x
