It's official!!

It's official!!

WK6R3 has been bagged and I am now the proud owner of a virtual badge that says I am a runner ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

I absolutely loved this run ๐Ÿ˜Š I was awake at 5:50am, perhaps because I was excited about running, but decided to wait till 6:20am as it was still quite dark outside. So, I had a cup of tea, half a banana and I gave myself a right good talking to about how I can and will do this run!!

Started off with my warm up walk, and then it came, the trepidation about whether I could do this or not!! Well, I listened to all you wise people and I took it slower and steadier than I have ever done and low and behold before I knew it Mr Smooth was telling me that I only had 5 more minutes left to run. I decided to up my pace just a little and carried on till the end running a little faster than I normally would but oh man, did it feel good?!! Hell, yes!!

I ran today for 25 minutes. 25 minutes. I ran. Nonstop. 25 minutes.

To all you beginners, middlers and enders, thank you for your support so far, it has been very much appreciated!!

Have a good Thursday whatever you're up to and I'll see you all in Week 7!! Yay!!

  • Brilliant well done. You have now made it to the best part of the programme!

  • Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š strangely looking forward to he longer runs now!!

  • Good morning & congratulations to you. What an amazing achievement. 25 mins non stop. Wow.

You've got this and you're most definitely a runner now.

    Congratulations once again!

  • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Well done Kim, you are officially a RUNNER. XXX

  • I keep saying to myself- "I am a runner. I am a runner" Quite unbelievable ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  • Yay, well done runner! ๐Ÿƒ

  • Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Oh I needed to see this post! I did week 6 run 1 this morning and despite feeling I smashed week 5 I struggled. You have given me renewed hope to plough on through week 6.

Well done for today and enjoy week 7.

  • Thank you and I'm glad I could be of help. I've received so much help and hope from people on here so it's wonderful to give something back. Keep on running and you'll be amazed what you can achieve!!

  • You're not alone, Week 6 is infamous! I struggled a lot with the first 2 runs yet managed run 3 relatively easily (by comparison!) Make sure you take it slow and you'll be fine โ˜บ๏ธ

  • Well done Kim it's official now ๐Ÿ˜‰ keep going your amazing ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Thanks Tricky ๐Ÿ˜Š Your turn next!!

  • Was supposed to today but am so tired will try tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜ด

  • Wise choice as you'll need all your energy ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Well done!!

  • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Told you that you could do it!

    Repeat after me:

I can run for 25 minutes so I can run for 28

If I can run for 28 minutes then I can run for 30!

Kim, you've got this, 9 more runs left!

  • Thanks. I'll keep repeating those words over and every over....

  • 25 minutes you say? That's 25 minutes of running? 25 minutes of not sitting on the derriere? ;0)

Brilliant effort & great to see that virtual runner badge! No more pesky interval walks, this is the fun bit! Enjoy!

  • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm strangely looking forward to the uninterrupted runs!!

  • Now then!! The beginning of the end of the program!! A new challenge! Now NEXT WEEK, Runner, begin to think about how to make this YOUR program. You have three more weeks of more or less boring runs to do, 25 minutes, 28 minutes, and 30 minutes. Nine runs, in which you get incrementally better but your brain is free to wander. I attached myself to a new app so that I get chased by zombies, but I reckon you'll want a new playlist or a new route or whatever to keep your brain occupied.

    Rock on!!!!

  • Thanks. Glad I've made it this far so joe I can enjoy uninterrupted runs!!

  • Well done! We knew you could do it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธโœ”๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

  • Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š I though for a moment that I wouldn't be able to but with sheer bloodymindedness, I managed to achieve!!

  • Go girl!!!! Can you believe how far you've come??? You are DEFINITELY on the home straight now Kimchoc!!! You will be able to smell the polish soon as they get your badge ready....well done to my fellow runner!!! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐ŸŽ‰

  • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š Your words during my running life have been a great source of inspiration. Take a pat on the back for all the encouragement you've given me x

  • Ohhhhh...I'm filling up!!!

  • Well done. You're a run ahead of me, 25 mins sounds scary. Im doing R2 tonight after a hard Pilates class last night. But hey I must be able to do it, I've been following the program and doing as Laura says ๐Ÿ˜Š

Onwards and upwards we all go.

  • Course you can do it!! If I can, anyone can. Slow and steady is how I approached WK6 and today was even slower and steadier than normal. I thought of the running as I've only got to run for 7 songs and that seemed to get me through it!! Let us know how you get on tonight ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

  • Great pictures and well done you !! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

  • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • You are a runner Mr Smooth said so, and who can argue with an Olympian?

  • I'd never argue with him!! I sure will miss him when this program is over ๐Ÿ˜ข

  • Do what I do - send yourself a thrice weekly invite telling you Mr Smooth is inviting you for a run.. One day I hope he turns up in person...

and then replay the w9 runs every third run... just about keeps me going...

  • Now that sounds like a plan that I shall have to put into action!!

  • Brilliant. You have been one run ahead of me throughout this programme, so I have my 25 min run to come next. We're getting there.

  • We sure are Tim!! Good luck for your run but I'm sure you don't need it, you've so got this!!

  • This sounds like a great run . You really enjoyed it by the sounds ,That's what it's all about. Well done &onwards &upwards

  • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Hi runner.... who ran what was it??? Oh yes, 25 minutes:) !!!!

    Brilliant.....go you!

  • I felt amazing afterwards, the legs didn't when I stopped running and started to walk but I did!!

  • It is an incredible feeling... I have had runs when my legs seem to be detached from the rest of me... all zingy!

  • That's exactly it!! Zingy legs!! They feel like they don't belong to me and I'm looking at them thinking "WTF are you doing there?!!"

  • PS

Keep it slow and steady :)

  • All the way......๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Runner:)!!!

  • Apparently so ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Well done you!!

  • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Yay Well Done You, I know exactly how you feel. I am tempted to try Mr Smooth as Sarah keeps going funny but will stick with her for week 7 if I can. I'm following you now (on here only, promise I won't jump out from behind a hedge or anything) especially as we are at the same stage and you are quite local to me. So keep posting x

  • The more the merrier!! Together we will do this!!! How local are you? I'm in Cambridgeshire? ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • North Beds, Clapham.

  • Fantabulous!!!!

  • Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Thanks for sharing ! I'm even more inspired now to move on to week 6 !! And many congratulations

  • I'm just sharing the love and good vibes that I've received from this forum. Good luck for WK6!

  • Fantastic work! I loved the way you figured out the run was just seven songs, I'll try that approach when I get to W6R3 next week. Enjoy the elation, you runner! ๐Ÿ˜

  • Makes the run go quicker in my opinion but I've had to stop singing out loud as I can't take in enough oxygen and sing at the same time!! Tried that once and very nearly regretted it!!

  • ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚ me too!
