Despite the fact that I had come from work, despite the fact that I twisted my ankle during the warm up (silly!) I decided to keep going and seems that was the right decision. My ankle was fine, and I easily managed the run, and I think I even managed to up my pace a little. I'm not aiming for speed at all, but I just felt it naturally happened.
Thanks SO much for all the support and encouragement you've all given me. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I could manage week 3. I'm a little apprehensive about week 4 but I'm sure it will be fine.
I've said it before, if I can do it, surely anyone can!
Take care, run safe,
Neil

Neil brilliantly done rest that ankle mind....
One third the way through, 9 runs in the bank how good does that sound?

It does sound good, if a little terrifying to think that in less than 3 weeks I should be running 20 minutes in one go (the wk5r3 thing...)
Such an achievement, Neil! Yay! And glad it was one of those good runs, too. (Though I hope your ankle is okay? Never fear a 2-day rest period if you need it, okay? I have done it a couple of times and if anything is has improved my next run).
Week 4 is lovely, buddy, trust me. You got this. Just watch that flipping pace! Having said that, my pace was a wee bit quicker today - not by much, and not through conscious effort, just by virtue of the fact that I must be a wee bit fitter now. I am still slow, mind. π But do I give a hoot?! Nope.
Thanks Sadie, encouragement much needed and most welcome! Because of my work schedule I don't run on Wednesdays or Thursdays, I feel fine now, so I should be perfect for Friday. I'm really looking forward to the week 4 runs actually. I never thought I'd be using "looking forward to" in a sentence about running!! Hope your running is going well too!
Hurrah! Good to hear your ankle feels better. Week 4 is delightful. I just finished it this morning and looking forward to experiencing the new challenges of week 5...ππββοΈπ
