yesss so pleased to see this! I find bananas are more palatable with some chocolate, but they're still optional. There are indeed other fruits!

Ahh, but none that contain the same degree of potassium, which is one of the most important electrolytes in the body, helping to regulate heart function as well as fluid balance – a key factor in regulating blood pressure. The effectiveness of potassium-rich foods such as bananas, in lowering blood pressure and protecting against heart disease and strokes is well accepted and bolstered by considerable scientific evidence.

So now you know why runners choose bananas.........the chocolate may be counter productive.

aaah curses. I knew there was something I was missing. I'm no physiologist.

Would the chocolate be counter-productive, though? Depending on the chocolate... surely... and the amount... *clutches at chocolate/straws*

Apparently dried apricots might be good for potassium (I think they're good for iron too), but too many of those and we're talking runs of a totally different kind...

That's y I tried one again but will have to find an alternative coz I still can't stand the texture! Worst of it is I love banana flavour! Do dried bananas work as well coz I like them lol πŸ€”

Interesting question..........tell me the answer.

It's 4 times higher in potassium, fibre, carbs, sugar n calories so a handful of dried banana would work just as well methinks....

Useful tip. Thank you.

So much easier to carry on a long run than sticky dates.
