C25k+ take 2

So after failing to get on with these at all last week I had another go at speed. I ignored the pace set by the podcast and just ran my normal pace for the first five minutes. The for the intervals I tried to do slow run for recovery and what I thought was fast enough to be a challenge to keep it up for one minute. That fast speed is going to take some work to judge it right. Too fast at the start so for one of the recovery minutes I had to walk part and fast run 6 was slower than the first one (but still faster than the podcast). Took the whole five minute cool down to get my breath back. But it was fun. I'll keep doing these. They are short so easy to fit in after work. They make you feel like you have had a good session. And I definitely enjoy short fast runs. Any takers for a park run 100m sprint?

They are fun aren't they!

I enjoyed speed. Bit more challenging to work out how to adapt the others to my faster beat but I will give it a go sometime.

Speed and Stamina are my favourites... I did get a bit addicted at first! More sensible now! :)

I love 'em too, I'm always waffling on about Speed and Stamina...Speed is great for a short run, you can really belt it!

Do you do it to the beat they set? Just couldn't go that slow, especially stamina.

It's fast for me...

You are brave.... I am way too scared to even go there just yet, I had a total tech meltdown trying to do the old W1R1 replacing the run interval with sprints... hmm let's just say the snails are still looking over their shoulders...

That's a good idea. But I think there's a reason the speed one is less than 20 minutes long. It only has 6 sprints whereas week 1 is 8 runs.

Oh yes that's a good observation, also trying to do Run 1 after the 2km warm up run, might have compromised me just a bit.... doh
