Completed my first recovery run after my half marathon. it was a 5k parkrun at Fulham Parkrun, a new venue as I was seeing a friend start his 100k thames path challenge at that location.
Felt a bit stiff but within 2K things started to free up and felt pretty good. Got to love Parkrun. every venue I have run the organisers and the fellow runners are fantastic.
A fairly easy week for me after my 10K on Saturday. I decided to take Monday off, even before I saw the weather forecast. However we did walk about 5K and had a good workout removing leaves and branches from the screen of the Hydro.
I rarely run on Tuesdays because it is my day in the charity shop and I don't like running in the afternoon or evening unless it is absolutely the only way to fit in 3 runs a week.
So today was my first run, I decided to have a music run and to pick up on Polyrunner when I get back next week. It was only raining a bit but became heavy by the time I had my shoes on. We waited a few minutes and it cleared. I ran about 4km and decided to come home. Excellent timing. It hammered down almost as soon as I got in and has hardly stopped apart from the hour or so when I walked to the village for food to take away and then packed the van ready for the trip. Since then it has been heavy rain and hailstones!
All being well we will do the parkrun at Fountains Abbey on Saturday then a run in Whitby on Monday or Tuesday.
