Hi everyone and welcome to, yet another, new running week.

We are all so busy.....life can be hectic ........and even more so for us runners!

Fear not, here is a place to take five, and enjoy a chat about our running adventures, trials, tribulations, successes, achievements etc.

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If you're a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi, without the pressure of a full post.

So pull up a chair, slip off the running shoes, and settle down for a little natter:)

Wishing you all a happy , healthy ,running week

A light drizzly run today under the leafy trees. Good to be out and with refreshing raindrops. Not too hot, not too cold and not too damp - I feel like baby bear!! Happy running all.

Sounds just a perfect way to start the week. Happy running, Baby bear x

Survived run 1 week 5!

Thought after a 2 day break whilst sailing down to Gibraltar I might struggle this evening but it was ok - even managed an extra 5 mins! Warm weather and sunshine helps. 😎

Hi, Oldfloss, I got some wall washing done and am feeling good about that progress, but I also ran .6 miles once this week. For those who don't know me, I am going through some tough-ish times lately. So okay, Oldfloss, I feel that my "thread" that I've been hanging on has turned into a "cord" this week; I'm a little stronger mentally and will try to better my distance or up my running times. I need to do my homework: I need to find care for Hubby when I am doing things--and not just during daylight hours, but morning (for running) or evening, too. I'm working on it....

I guess most people on here has at one time or another has found an excuse to not run when we're down or struggling. You sound like you may have your hands quite full & you're still full of determination. I wish you nothing but the best, you're an inspiration. Love & light

Doing wonderfully... and the cord is strong... building up, slowly and steadily... we will get there. I am right there beside you... xx Well done! xx

Good afternoon Floss, I am now off the IC and repeating some runs, this morning I ran/walked along the sea front promenade at Greenock, 35 miles from where I live. Week 6 run 2 but I walked for 5 minutes between the two 10 minute runs, on Wednesday I'll repeat that week but only walk for three minutes.

Hi Floss, I will be tentatively taking steps out later on after my dodgy Achilles pain last week..it feels like everything’s against me reaching my ultimate goal!! Those elves have probably put the 10k badge back in the drawer!! Fingers crossed that my ankle is ok x

I’ve been lurking around on this forum for the past 5 weeks and it’s given me so much motivation so far! It’s nice to read everyone else’s experiences.

I completed W5R2 on Monday and gearing up for W5R3. I read that for some of us that run is a mental challenge more than anything. I’ve taken all your advice in my stride and can’t wait for the run tomorrow!

I also can’t believe I’m actually enjoying this - after more than 18 years of football (with lots of interval sprinting, rather than sustainable pace running) I’d never thought I’d ever like this running thing (I never used to in the past..)!

Onwards and upwards - week 6 is in nearly in sight!

Lovely to read your missive. Guess I have a little trial and tribulation this week...I'm tired! Running is tough when you're weary, isn't it?! Club run tomorrow evening, so that should perk me up - or finish me off 😳.

Happy running to you Oldfloss and team, you are appreciated. And Ju-Ju, I'm trying hard on the 10k, not quite on track at present, but I will get there, in due course.

The club run didn’t finish me off, but it was fast 🙂🌻

I'm on week 8, and beginning to look forward to (hopefully) being able to say I've graduated next week. For now I'm trying to get braver about hills...in the early days I was planning routes to try and minimise them, but when you're running for longer it's impossible to avoid them. There seem to be more 'ups' than downs though...how can that be? ; ) I'm sticking with it and just trying to remind myself it's ok to go slow as long as I don't actually grind to a halt...

The roads rise up when they see you coming..they do ! Huge well done and coast your way to the podium:)

Ahh - so that's why I can't seem to avoid them! : ))) Many thanks for the encouragement, Oldfloss.

Hi Oldfloss I’m on Wk9 run 2 and it’s going well slight knee twinges that I can usually attribute to running bit faster so have to be really disciplined at keeping pace slow n steady. But it works my 63 year old frame can cope better with that.

I was thinking after graduation I will slowly increase my running minutes by 3 mins per week. Is it ok to do that on every run in that week eg 33 mins first week then 36 second week or increase 1 minute done 3 times a week.

Haha sorry probs not explaining this too well.
